And a picture of my 71 Challenger convertible the day I brought it home. It had a dented left front fender which I had repaired for $100. I was on the USS Bainbridge (CGN-25) from 1973 until 1976.

I purchased my 1971 Challenger shaker convertible 340 four speed in June 1972 from the original owner in Toledo, Ohio for $1950. I was in the US Navy at the time attending nuclear power school in Bainbridge, Maryland. Dean Belden was the original owner who ordered the car in Oct 1970. He needed to sell the car to purchase a 4 door as his wife was pregnant with their first child. I contacted the child two years ago ( now in her 40s) and she showed her mother a picture of the car and she remembered it. Unfortunately, Dean died in 2011. I drove the Challenger throughout my enlistment from coast to coast. I still have the car to this day. Now that I'm older, it's hard for me to drive it as it has no power brakes or power steering and the seats I once found comfortable are no longer so. I'll attach a pic of the car along with my 2015 Challenger and a pic taken of me shortly after I got the car. Today, I have less hair and ore aches but I drive the 71 Challenger to shows. Enjoy.
